The Kagal Education Society was established in 1960 by Sri Y.D. Mane, an eminent citizen of the region. Apart from education, the Society works tirelessly to improve people who suffer from various forms of addiction. It provides de-addiction and rehabilitation services to such individuals and brings them back to the path of happiness and productivity.

The focus of the Kagal Education Society is to ensure that the addicts get timely treatment and sufficient opportunities to recover. The Society receives support from de-addiction experts like doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists, counselors, and nurses. The Society considers addiction as a mental disease, and timely medical and counseling intervention can bring about the desired change. Yoga and meditation techniques are also used for making behavioral changes in the patients and help them in their resolve to quit the addiction.
