Athencottasan Muthamizh Kazhagam (AMK) is a non-governmental organization involved in social and health services since 1970. Over the decades, the organization has received several awards and appreciations from the different governments at the Center and the state. AMK Newlife De-addiction & Rehabilitation Centre started in the year 1995. Since then, it has been motivating people to refrain from drugs and alcohol and treating the addicts through awareness, counseling, medical treatment, and follow-up assistance.
AMK Newlife De-addiction & Rehabilitation Centre, Kanyakumari, has treated over 50000 people suffering from addiction. It is 15 bedded facilities that identify addicted person misery and lead them to a path of a life free from any form of addiction. It has a primary treatment program, followed by detoxification, psychological therapy, follow up, support groups, and family counseling programs.
